Glen ROSA RECCE

A partial recce of the old classic which has been resurrected for 2025.

I’d intended to run the route in full but on the tail end of something unpleasant and this being my third consecutive day on the hill, the heat took its toll. I cant recall ever having so little energy. But it is hard not to feel inspired by the sweeping granite slabs and airy ridges of Arran, so I set out anyway, admitting defeat on the traverse beneath Cir Mhor and finding a quiet pool in the river below in which to cool off before running for the ferry. It will be more than a decade since the race was last run and my first race as v50. Hopefully there’s life in the old man yet.
