WAITING FOR A WAVE

A nice wave at Aberdaron on a raw day in March - but a lot of fun in a boat tailor made for the job.

It followed one of numerous trips out to Bardsey - always a committing paddle with any swell - and some exhilarating moments in the tide races, the speed and size of which can quickly become intimidating on the wrong day.

But it’s also a coastline of great beauty, one where the grey seals are constant companions, porpoises will almost certainly be seen, and through the summer, great rafts of puffins litter the channel.

Possibly some of the best sea kayaking Wales has to offer.
